Want to be a Graphic Designer, a Portrait Photographer, or just got promoted and want to learn the fundamentals of what makes a good manager? As a self-help book enthusiast and advocate of continual education, I geeked out when I learned about online learning sites like Lynda.com. Lynda.com is a leading online learning platform that helps anyone learn business, software, technology, and creative skills to achieve personal and professional goals.

These are courses I want to tackle: Photojournalism and Photo Essay Fundamentals, Getting Started with Final Cut Pro, Social Media Marketing for Small Businesses, Improving Your Memory, and Sketching for Product Design. There are loads of courses of all varying levels and interests and definitely something for you.
What I like most is that I get my learn on in the comfort of my own home and at my own pace. Classes are organized by categories and bite-size segments. Each segment can range from 5-8 minutes. There are even transcripts of class. I’m currently taking a Travel Photography course and below a screenshot of my class.
Hope this inspires you to pick up a new skill or freshen up on your skills. Make sure to get your free membership with a valid County of Los Angeles Public Library card.
