What is Shake Shack
For those who aren’t familiar with this burger joint with a cult following, Shack Shake serves classic, all-natural beef burgers, flat-top dogs, chicken, frozen custard, crinkle cut fries, and more.
Shake Shack recommendations
My favorite is the Shroom Burger–a crisp-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheese, topped with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce. Note: The Shroom Burger doesn’t have a beef patty. Double note: Chow down carefully because the hot melted cheese can squirt out. I sometimes let it squirt out on my fries to created cheese fries. When I’m feeling rather ravenous, I order the Shack Stack. It’s the classic cheeseburger AND the shroom burger with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce. Best of both worlds. If you’re not a fan of beef burgers, there are fried chicken burgers as well as chicken dogs. Vegetarians can order the Shroom Burger. The Crinkle Cut Fries are always a winner. For the dessert lovers, another must order are their frozen custards–dense, rich, and creamy ice cream. The Frozen Custards come in forms of shakes, cones, and concretes. Each Shake Shack location create unique concretes tailored to that city’s culture and contains ingredients from local shops. The Rainbow Connection concrete is a must get at the WeHo location, see photo above.
Shack Shake grew in popularity at its original location in NYC Madison Square Park and now have expanded to over a dozen state locations in the US (including a handful in Los Angeles, woohoo!) and even internationally! If you’re a creeper, you can view the liveShack Cam of the OG location on the app.
If you live in LA, go grab your free Shake Shack burger at the various locations, Century City, Glendale, Hollywood, and West Hollywood. Happy eating!
